The Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut

Interfaith Relations

Our baptismal call to "respect the dignity of every human being" (BCP, 305) asks us to reach out in love to all people, not just those who share our Christian faith. The Episcopal Church in CT is committed to engaging with our neighbors of all faith traditions. Below are links to some local resources and partnerships through which Episcopalians in CT can and do engage with the faithful from other religious traditions:

Christian Conference of CT, website is currently down.

Farmington Valley American Muslim Center (housed in former building of Christ Church, Avon)

Hartford Seminary

Interfaith Council of Southwestern CT

Office of Ecumenical and Interreligious Ministries of The Episcopal Church

Many local parishes and clergy groups also have deep interfaith connections, so if you are interested in developing those partnerships where you are, contact your local clergy person.

Interreligious Network Facilitator

The Rev. Dr. Lisa Hahneman was appointed in 2015 to serve as Interreligious Network Facilitator for ECCT, to explore networking possibilities that could deepen current relationships and/or initiate new ones. She is currently the rector of the Church of the Holy Spirit, West Haven. Contact her at ldhahneman@sbcglobal.net or 203-934-3437.
