What are Ministry Networks?
Ministry Networks are two or more Episcopalians from two or more parishes collaborating together to serve God’s mission.
In its discernment from 2013-2015 on ways to restructuring and reorganizing the Episcopal Church in Connecticut for how it could more fully participate in God's mission, the members of the task force came to realize the presence and power of the ministry networks that were all around - some traditional, such as the Episcopal Church Women and the Social Concerns Committee - others emerging as grassroots ways to organize, such as a multi-town and multi-faith effort to resettle refugee families. The ministry of the laity is often being expressed through these networks.
ECCT decided to recognize the importance of its ministry networks, support and encourage them, and include ministry network representatives in its governance (on the Mission Council).
