Advocacy, Racial Justice & Reconciliation

As baptized members in the Body of Christ, we are called into God’s mission of restoration and wholeness.

We have declared and reaffirmed, through convention and in particular resolution #7, our commitment to confront anti-black bias and dismantle systemic racism.  This work must be done internally, interpersonally and within our national institutions.

God invites us through scripture to lament, repent and untether from white supremacy as found in the principalities of life here in the United States of America. The Canon for Mission Advocacy, Racial Justice, & Reconciliation will serve as a resource to this ongoing work, as well as our Racial Healing, Justice, & Reconciliation Ministry Network, and Reparations Task Force. Together seek to mid-wife and live into God’s dream. If your parish is interested in joining this movement, please reach out directly.

We are called to fully embody and live into God’s realm of justice, peace and reconciliation. Let’s get to it.

For our struggle is not against enemies of blood and flesh, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, so that you may be able to withstand on that evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm. Stand therefore, and fasten the belt of truth around your waist, and put on the breastplate of righteousness. As shoes for your feet put on whatever will make you ready to proclaim the gospel of peace.
