The Rt. Rev. Jeffrey W. Mello is the 16th Bishop Diocesan of The Episcopal Church in Connecticut. Elected in May 2022, he was ordained bishop in October 2022. As Bishop Diocesan, Bishop Jeff oversees and is responsible for the spiritual and temporal needs of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut as, together, we participate in God’s mission.
The Book of Common Prayer says that “a bishop in God’s Holy Church is called to be one with the apostles in proclaiming Christ’s resurrection and interpreting the Gospel. . . The bishop is called to guard the faith, unity, and discipline of the Church; to celebrate and provide for the administration of the sacraments of the New Covenant; to ordain priests and deacons and to join in ordaining bishops; and to be in all things a faithful pastor and wholesome example for the entire flock of Christ.”
For fun I enjoy: running, attending live theatre, hiking with my dog and coffee ice cream.
