As Digital Storyteller, I oversee all communication-related functions for the Episcopal Church in Connecticut. This includes the stories from within our beloved community, social media, messaging, imaging and branding, multimedia and all other facets of communication. The goal of the department is to ensure that God’s mission for ECCT and our participation in it is at the forefront and clear across all communication platforms.
As the ECCT Office of Communication, we strive to support parish and other ECCT communities with their internal communication strategies through trainings, digital office hours, and other resources. We also support and interact through our story sharing initiatives, be it our diocesan blog ECCT Stories, social media, or the Archives Oral History Series inviting the Episcopal Church in Connecticut and others to share their stories and images of God’s mission and our struggles and joys to discern, engage, and connect.
Being a writer is knowing that words wield power. There is a certain responsibility that comes with being a Storyteller because it has the influence to mold minds and shift perspectives. I know that my creative ability to convey various messaging is a God-given talent. Therefore, I do my best to use it as a vehicle to build connection, hold space for vulnerability, and spread heartfelt positivity!
