2nd Annual Kwanzaa Celebration at St. Luke’s, New Haven

December 27, 2023 @ 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Hear the History of Kwanzaa recited with performances by: Director of Chapel Music at Yale University Nathaniel Gumbs; St. Luke’s Liturgical Dancers; St. Luke’s Steel Band; Wes Yarbor (former AlvinAiley dancer); Gospel Choir Salt and Pepper; and solo vocalist Surrenity.

After the performances, there will be a potluck dinner of traditional Kwanzaa foods: black eyed peas, collard greens, candied yams, fried okra, vegan jollof rice, plantains, hush puppies, mac and cheese, sausage and chicken gumbo, fried chicken, jerk chicken, Jamaican beef patties, African peanut stew, cornbread, southern peach cobbler, Jamaican sweet potato pudding and other African, African-American, Jamaican and Caribbean inspired cuisine. *Potluck dinner | Free and open to the public.
