All Shall Be Well – A Lenten Retreat with Dame Julian of Norwich in Music and Meditation.
Julian of Norwich is known for her mystic visions and theological reflections on God’s mothering love for us. Her 14th century meditations which engage the whole person – body, mind, and spirit – reverberate through the present day. Celebrated singer and instrumentalist Ruth Cunningham and the Rev. Tuesday Rupp will lead a day retreat with music, meditations, lunch, and a closing Eucharist.
RUTH CUNNINGHAM is a sound healing practitioner and a founding member of the group Anonymous 4. She specializes in early music performance as well as improvisational sacred music from varied spiritual traditions in both liturgical and concert settings. She works with individuals and groups on using the voice and music for healing and creating a spiritual practice using sound. With Anonymous 4, Ruth performed in concerts and festivals throughout the United States, Europe and the Far East, making thirteen recordings. REV. TUESDAY RUPP has been serving as the rector of St. Paul’s since 2018. Prior to her calling in Woodbury she was the Associate Rector for Christian Formation and Arts Ministry at Church of the Heavenly Rest in New York. She is a native of Portland, Oregon and came to ministry through music. After holding careers as a singer, conductor, and director of small arts organizations, she felt God’s call to deeper service. In 2010 she began studying at Yale Divinity School/Berkeley Divinity School/Yale Institute of Sacred Music, and graduated in 2013.
