The holiday season is right around the corner! The warm smell of gingerbread will soon fill the halls of the St. George’s Episcopal Church in Middlebury as they prepare for the annual Gingerbread Village and Christmas Bazaar starting the first weekend of December. For over 50 years the church has welcomed the community to enjoy a stroll through their completely edible winter wonderland. This year’s creations are inspired by Christmas carols, from standard classics of yesteryear to modern favorites and everything in between. A beautiful village of sugar and spice, snow families, cottages, castles, and covered bridges will be on display. Ingenuity and imagination mixed with holiday spirit and a touch of musical magic will create a unique experience for all ages. As always, all pieces will be on sale to take home on the final day. In addition to the village, this cherished event includes the sale of decorate your own gingerbread cookie kits “to go”, homemade crafts, handcrafted woodwork, bake sale, and raffle baskets. Lunch will also be available “to go” on December 2 & 9 from 11-2:30 pm.
Event hours are Saturday, December 2 from 10AM to 7PM, Sunday, December 3 from 12PM to 7PM, Monday, December 4 through Friday, December 8 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM. The final day is Saturday, December 9 from 10AM to 4PM.
