Forging Peace: A Day of Interfaith Worship and Action to End Gun Violence at Christ Church, Easton
October 16, 2022 @ 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM

Community and faith groups from Southwest Connecticut will united for a day of interfaith worship and action to end gun violence.
Hosted at Christ Church Easton (59 Church Road Easton CT).
From 1pm-1:45pm, join together for interfaith worship service with prayers, music, meditation, scriptures, and a homiletic message from Bishop Jim Curry. After the service, from 1:45-3:30pm, there will be a community fair with opportunities to gain information, draw support, and act to prevent and end gun violence. Talk to leaders from area groups and nonprofits about initiatives to end and prevent domestic violence, community violence, and suicide. Stop by a mental health first aid tent. Connect with neighbors across religious, geographic, and racial divides in the hospitality tent. Take part in the transforming initiative of Swords to Plowshares forge that melds garden tools and jewelry from decommissioned guns. Add your touch to the mural art on site. Read books with your children about big feelings and how to process news. Take action with CT Against Gun Violence and the Jr. Newtown Action Alliance or talk to local legislators about their initiatives to end gun violence. Safety information, gun locks and safes will also be given away! And more!
