Lenten Day Program at Camp Washington: Imagining the People of Holy Week

This Workshop, led by author, actor and academic Ron Marasco, will take a creative and imaginative approach to exploring what was seen, felt, and heard by some of the people who witnessed, and participated in, Jesus’s last week on Earth. We will focus on the four gospels as they take us through Holy Week. We will delve into selected Biblical personages from a storytelling point of view, examining them as literary and dramatic “characters” as we try to flesh out with our imaginations some of the unexplored moments of the story.
This will be a chance for participants to explore the events of Holy Week in a way that will use our empathy, imagination, and individual life experiences to enter into “spaces” in the storytelling where the gospel writers have left us the gift of room to wonder.

$30.00 pp includes continental breakfast, and lunch.

Ron Marasco, Ph.D. was a Professor and Department Chair of Theater at Loyola Marymount University, in Los Angeles, where he also kept up a career as a working actor, appearing in numerous TV shows. His first book, Notes to an Actor was named by the American Library Association an “Outstanding Academic Book of 2008.” His second book, About Grief: Insights, Setbacks, Grace Notes, Taboos has been translated into Spanish, Korean and, most recently, Vietnamese and published throughout Latin America and Asia. His novel The Dog Who Was There reached the Christian Bestseller List in 2017. He serves on ECCT’s Commission on Ministry and is a parishioner and member of the Vestry at St. Andrews in Kent, Ct.
