Church of the Holy Trinity, Middletown is holding a different kind of Maundy Thursday event this year for the first time. We are partnering with the Community Health Center (CHC) and St. Vincent de Paul in Middletown to bring a footwashing clinic out on the front lawn that afternoon from 1-3pm. Whether you’d like to be served (having your feet washed) or serve (do the footwashing), we would love for you to join us!
We’ll have 7 footwashing stations and also offer some health screening services thanks to the medical residents and staff at CHC! This will include blood pressure checks, HIV testing, “substance information” team and referral services, and hopefully their “access to care” team will be there to set up appointments for anyone in need of their clinical services. People will be able to take a bag of some toiletries and socks with them when they’re done.
If anyone would like to help wash feet (we’ll provide detailed instructions), help with registration, hand out the take-home bags, pray with people, help setup before (11am) or clean up afterwards (3pm), we would be so grateful to partner in this ministry with you! If there are any medical professionals that would like to offer their services for free, that would be an incredible blessing. To have podiatrists on site is the goal for this event that we hope to make an annual part of Maundy Thursday.
