The History of Big Band Lecture and Performance featuring the New London Big Band at Christ Church Cathedral, Hartford

Christ Church Cathedral and the Greater Hartford Arts Council present, “The History of Big Band lecture and performance featuring the New London Big Band”. This event is part of the Cathedral’s Jazz Series and the Art Council’s Jazz Activation Summer events. The New London Big Band is led by trombonist and composer Sean Nelson, they are a 17-piece jazz orchestra made up of the finest musicians in New England. Formed in 2016, the band plays a mix of classic jazz standards, upbeat dance tunes, and original music by band members, and regularly features instrumental and vocal soloists. Come experience music and discussion in this transformative space.
This event is free and open to the public; reserve your seat below. There is ample street parking in Hartford around the Cathedral. Validated parking tickets from the MAT Garage will be available at the door for a reduced charge of $ 5.00.
