 ley M. Kessler Distinguished Professor of New Testament and Jewish\nStud
 ies at Hartford International University for Religion and Peace\, as wel
 l as University\nProfessor of New Testament and Jewish Studies Emerita a
 nd Mary Jane Werthan Professor of\nJewish Studies Emerita at Vanderbilt.
  Her numerous publications includeÂ Short Stories by Jesus:\nThe Enigmat
 ic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi\,Â The Jewish Annotated New Testame
 nt\,\nandÂ The Misunderstood Jew: The Church and the Scandal of the Jewi
 sh Jesus.\n\nIn Witness at the Cross\, Levine shares the story of Jesusâ
 €™s death from the perspective of those\nwho were there and encourages t
 he reader to consider the different roles of each in Jesusâ€™s life.\n\n
 The first Jew to teach New Testament at Romeâ€™s Pontifical Biblical Ins
 titute\, Levine is the\nrecipient of numerous honors\, including the Hub
 ert Walter Award for Reconciliation and\nInterfaith Cooperation from the
  Archbishop of Canterbury\, the Bridge Award from the UK\nCouncil of Chr
 istians and Jews\, and the Seelisberg Prize for Contributions to Jewish-
 Christian\nRelations. She is an elected member of both the American Acad
 emy of Arts and Sciences and\ntheÂ Academia Europaea.\n\nHer talks are n
 oted for combining historical and literary insight with humor. She is co
 mmitted to\neliminating antisemitic\, sexist\, and homophobic theologies
