The Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut

Ministry Network Expo and Workshops

On Sunday, November 20th (Day Two of Annual Convention 2016), we are excited to host a Ministry Network Expo, showing off the breadth and depth of the exciting ministries where Episcopalians like you are collaborating across our state and beyond!

What’s a Ministry Network?

  1. Two or more Episcopalians
  2. From two or more parishes
  3. Collaborating together by serving God’s mission through a particular ministry

Ministry Networks come in a variety of forms—from ECW, UTO, and Faith Behind Bars to Camp Washington, ConnECA, and hospital chaplains to Faith Formation, Community Gardens, and Spanish Speaking. Currently, our Ministry Networks number more than 30 and counting.

Request for Participants: Ministry Network Expo

Who?

All ECCT Ministry Networks—both established and emerging—are invited to participate at Annual Convention 2016’s Ministry Network Expo & Workshop.

What?

A “tabletop expo” where you can tell your story! Note: THIS IS NOT YOUR GRANDPARENT’S MINISTRY FAIR! This is an opportunity to engage your sisters and brothers through storytelling, visuals, handouts, and artifacts that bring to life the many ways your Ministry Network is making a difference in the world as you follow God into the neighborhood.

When?

ECCT’s 232nd Annual Convention, November 19 & 20, 2016 at the Connecticut Convention Center, downtown Hartford.

Where?

Tabletop venues will line the halls and a ballroom at the Connecticut Convention Center, where Ministry Networks will tell stories, offer insights and inspire.

Why?

This is an ECCT-wide audience that gives you an opportunity to share your ministry and build momentum for your work. Who knows what this kind of exposure may mean for your service to God’s mission? It’s an opportunity to spread the message of the good work you’re doing.

How?

For $25, you can reserve your table today and begin to plan how you and your Ministry Network will “show your stuff” and schedule team members to host tabletop discussions at breakout events throughout the Convention. Please email Adam Yates at ayates@episcopalct.org to indicate your interest and to receive instructions on how to submit payment.

Request for Participants: Ministry Network Workshops

Are you feeling inspired? Then a Ministry Workshop is perfect for you and your team! We’re seeking proposals from all Ministry Networks. Six Ministry Networks will be selected to offer two one-hour workshops with our ECCT sisters and brothers, up to 100 in each of our six venues. If you are excited about HOW YOU’RE JOINING GOD IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD
and can share your enthusiasm through an interactive hands-on experience, WE WANT TO TALK TO YOU!

What?

Six Ministry Networks will be selected to present two workshops of up to 100 people in each session of our Sunday worship guests after the Eucharist is over. The workshop is an opportunity to provide detailed information about your Ministry Network and offer a hands-on opportunity to experience what it means to participate in God’s mission through your ministry!

This might mean packing lunches for the hungry, learning music, teaching children, learning and speaking Spanish or French Creole, planting seeds … let your imagination go wild!

How?

Assemble a proposal that includes the following:

  1. Name of Ministry Network
  2. Contact information for key leadership
  3. Details about the “transformative experience,” which includes format, content, presenters, and particular set-up needs
  4. Send proposal to:
    The Rev. Adam Yates
    The Episcopal Church in Connecticut
    290 Pratt St, Box 52
    Meriden, CT 06450
    Or by email at ayates@episcopalct.org
  5. Send proposal by June 15, 2016

The Convention Planning Committee will review all proposals and make a decision by July 30 as to which Ministry Networks will present at Convention. We’ll be in touch about next steps, promotional opportunities, and set-up details.
