DESCRIPTION:Italian-born guitar phenom Peppino D’Agostino is returning
  to new London\, following his sold-out performance there three years ag
 o. Considered\, “one of the 50 transcendent acoustic guitarists” (Gu
 itar Player magazine)\, Peppino returns to New London with his program\,
  Made in Italy.\n\nHe will be performing at St. James Episcopal Church\,
  76 Federal St\, New London\, on May 22 at 7:00pm\n\nD’Agostino emerge
 d on the acoustic guitar scene in the early 80’s as a leading member o
 f the second wave of the great fingerstylists that helped redefine the i
 nstrument in the ’90s. His remarkable technique\, penchant for open tu
 nings\, and percussive effects are the basis of his unique compositional
  style which has been inspiring musicians and audiences alike for decade
 s. Add to that his natural warmth\, playfulness\, and broad musical tast
 es and you have the recipe for what he calls “minestrone music.” His
  virtuosity and his emotional charge have also had a significant influen
 ce on the younger generation of fingerstyle guitarists.\n\nThe concert i
 s being produced by The Anglican Singers\, Artists-in-Residence at St Ja
 mes.\n\nThe Anglican Singers\, founded in 1996\, is dedicated to perform
 ing the finest music of the English choral tradition\, spanning half a m
 illennium\, in the service of Choral Evensong. Proceeds from this concer
 t will support their European tour fund.\n\nThe choir will join Peppino 
 for a musical collaboration as part of the program.\n\nA reception will 
 follow the concert where Peppino and singers of the choir look forward t
