DESCRIPTION:The National Day of Remembrance on September 30th is a day t
 o remember and honor those who attended Indian Boarding Schools\, to tel
 l the truth about this history and how it continues to impact Native com
 munities today. Many boarding schools were supported and run by Christia
 n denominations and churches. As we remember this legacy\, Christians ha
 ve a responsibility to engage in the work of truth telling.\n\n\n\nJoin 
 the Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery for a presentation 
 by Rev. Canon Debbie Royals (Pascua Yaqui) and panel discussion with Van
 ce Blackfox (Cherokee)\, Director of Ecumenical and Tribal Relations of 
 the Indigenous Theological Circle\, Rev. Dr. Allen Buck (Cherokee)\, Dir
 ector of the United Methodist’s Circle of Indigenous Ministries in the
  Northwest\, and Pearl Chanar (Alaska Native)\, co-chair of the Episcopa
 l Church's Truth\, Justice &amp\; Healing on Native Boarding Schools Com
