DESCRIPTION:The Episcopal Church in Connecticut is offering a two day wo
 rkshop in collaboration with VISIONS\, INC. This training is for those w
 ho are interested in expanding ideas and creating community around conce
 pts of diversity\, equity\, inclusion and justice. VISIONS multicultural
  organizational development process incorporates a variety of approaches
  and techniques that address what people think\, what they do\, and how 
 they feel about cultural differences and changes.\n\nOur workshops and t
 raining sessions allow for difficult and intensive work within a model t
 hat helps participants feel encouraged to stay invested and engaged thro
 ughout. Each workshop combines personal and group experiential learning\
 , conceptual theory\, and opportunities to practice new approaches. Some
  highlights from the workshop offered are:\n\n•Identify previous uncon
 scious biases and misinformation in yourself\, in others\, and in organi
 zations.\n\n•Communicate more effectively across difference and throug
 h difficult conversations.\n\n•Recognize personal\, interpersonal\, in
 stitutional and cultural barriers to inclusion.\n\n•Understand the ong
 oing personal effects of historical and contemporary exclusion and oppre
 ssion. For example\, the effects of sexism on people of all gender ident
 ities and expressions\, including cis-gendered men and cis-gendered wome
