I am a Lay Person

Please describe your current involvement in the Episcopal Church in Connecticut using first person, narrative language.

I have been a member of St Paul’s, Brookfield for over forty years and served in many capacities there. Currently I am involved in the music ministry, am a member of a woman’s bible study and serve as a delegate to convention. Within the greater ECCT, I am co-convener of the Companions in Mission Ministry Network.

Please describe your current involvement in your local community and any wider community engagement using first person, narrative language.

My wider community involvement focuses on other Episcopal/Anglican organizations. I serve, as called, as a team member/visitor on Faith Alive weekends. Internationally, I have participated and will continue to participate in short-term mission trips to Tanzania and Kenya where I work with my husband to keep IT infrastructure updated at chruch-run educational institurions, and visit various churches to share fellowship and encouragement with each other.

Please provide a brief personal statement as to why you are suited to this position using first person narrative language.

I served as a member of the previous version of the Mission Council from approximately 2010 to 2013. I understand the kinds of work that is entrusted to the Mission Council. As a member of, and co-convener of the Companions in Mission Ministry Network, I am very aware of the changes in our Diocese at large and the effects of COVID on our worshiping communities. I feel the I am being called to participate in the work of identifying both new and old ways of showing the love of Jesus to all.
