ECCT’s 240th Annual Convention Follow-up

‹ Back to News

“We are growing together. With Jesus as our vine, our branches are stretching and reaching new places—the very places God needs us to be.”

– The Rt. Rev. Jeffrey W. Mello

On Saturday, Oct. 26, the Rt. Rev. Jeffrey W. Mello offered his annual Bishop’s Address within the context of the Celebration of Holy Eucharist. He spoke about the progress that has taken place across ECCT over the last year, in particular as it relates to the our diocesan structures and staffing. Bishop Jeff also shared his vision for this next season of life together. A vision where we will “actively seek out ways to continue to build connection, to continue to build trust, to build our relationships with one another here in ECCT.”

He reminded us, “If there is one vine in Jesus, our call is to be the many branches bound together in Christ’s transformative love…Your parishes, your communities, are the branches of the Episcopal Church in Connecticut.”

Bishop Jeff called us to #bethebranch, “reaching into the very places God needs us to be the most.”

Special Thanks to our Kids at Convention

For the second year, we were able to offer childcare as part of this year’s Annual Convention. Fifteen children joined our Childcare Coordinator, Angela Arpino, and her team of childcare providers over the course of the two-day Convention. The highlight for many was creating the altar frontal which was used during our Saturday Celebration of Holy Eucharist and now graces the altar at The Commons.

Thank you to all our childcare staff for offering our children a safe and fun environment at Convention. We look forward to welcoming more kids next year.
