The ECCT Community Gardens Ministry Network works to facilitate, educate, and extend support to people interested in starting community gardens. Gardens play a role in addressing issues of food insecurity within their communities.

This year the Community Gardens Ministry Network decided to utilize the ECCT Ministry Network Grant by aiding parish gardens with a focus on garden infrastructure. This includes things such as repairing fencing, making additions to a garden’s landscape, or restoring plant beds, ect.

Eight church gardens were selected as recipients of the 2023 Infrastructure Project Awards:

  1. St John’s, Vernon
  2. Grace, Old Saybrook
  3. Grace & St. John’s, Hamden
  4. Holy Spirit, West Haven
  5. St. Mark’s, New Canaan
  6. St. James, West Hartford
  7. St. Stephen’s, Ridgefield
  8. Trinity, Seymour
