ECCT is pleased to welcome Jeanette Wheeler as Program Assistant to the Bishop Suffragan & Events Coordinator. Jeanette will support ECCT’s Bishop Suffragan, Rt. Rev. Laura J. Ahrens, as well as assisting in the coordination and facilitation of ECCT-wide events. This will include, among many other responsibilities, managing Bishop Laura’s complex calendar and supporting the ECCT staff more broadly.
Jeanette has worked in the field of healthcare for the past 18 years, serving primarily as a programs and events director for residents at senior living communities. She made the decision to close this rewarding chapter of her life because she sensed God was leading her elsewhere. When the door opened up at ECCT, she knew it was the opportunity she was seeking.
In the past, she has co-owned a café and juice bar, taught French and private music lessons, edited books, and briefly pursued a potential career in hairdressing.
Jeanette lives with her spouse, Richard. She has had a band called Water2Wine since 1999 and enjoys writing, recording and performing music. She also finds joy in making crafts, reading books, trying out new recipes, studying and teaching the Bible, and participating in healing ministry. Her aspirations for the future include authoring books, expanding her spiritual gifts and callings, and traveling more of the world.
Jeanette began her work at The Commons on November 19, 2024. She may be contacted at jwheeler@episcopalct.org.
Jeanette Wheeler says, ““I am excited about stepping into this role, as I have always had a heart for ministry. I am grateful that this is where God has placed me, and I already feel welcome and at home here at The Commons.”
