We write to inform you of the deaths of Linda Graham Brockman and the Reverend Richard Mayberry. Information regarding their services can be found below. We give God thanks for their lives and for their years of faithful ministry in The Episcopal Church in Connecticut. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Into your hands, O merciful Savior, we commend your servants, Linda Graham Brockman and Richard Mayberry. Acknowledge, we humbly beseech you, sheep of your own fold, lambs of your own flock, sinners of your own redeeming. Receive them into the arms of your mercy, into the blessed rest of everlasting peace, and into the glorious company of the saints in light. Amen.

May the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.


Linda Graham Brockman

August 23, 1943 – October 17, 2024

Linda Graham Brockman, of Vernon, CT, died peacefully in the care of Hospice at Home on Oct. 17, 2024, in the 59th year of her marriage to the Rev. Dr. Bennett A. Brockman, who survives her along with their sons William and Nathan and their families.

A memorial Holy Eucharist celebrating and thanking God for her life will be conducted at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 661 Old Post Rd., Fairfield, CT 06824 on November 2 at 1 PM.

Memorial gifts to the music program at St. Paul’s, which Linda treasured as a choir member and worshiper, will be cordially appreciated and gratefully received and utilized. Richard Mayberry

September 26, 1945 – October 14, 2024

The Reverend Richard Mayberry died peacefully on October 14, 2024, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts following a period of declining health. He was born on September 26, 1945.

Father Mayberry had previously served as Rector at St. Francis Episcopal Church on Long Ridge Road in Stamford, CT, for 30 years. After his retirement from ministry at St. Francis, he served parishes at St. Paul’s Church, Fairfield, CT, and St. Matthew’s Church in Wilton, CT. 

While Rector of St. Francis, he oversaw the design and construction of the church building, as well as leading the Campaign to fund the project. Fr. Mayberry was the quintessential parish priest, loving and accompanying his parishioners on their life journeys. His ministry was hallmarked by compassionate pastoral care, his wonderful sense of humor, and his gift for creating beauty in all that he did.

A memorial service will be held at Saint Francis Episcopal Church at 2810 Long Ridge Rd., Stamford, CT 06903, on Saturday, October 26 at 1 PM. A reception will follow in the parish hall.
