Part-time Director of Music
Description
Zion Episcopal Church in North Branford, CT is in search of a Director of Music to lead its diverse and vibrant music program. The Director of Music will direct and accompany the parish choir at one service on Sunday morning, and accompany the service on organ and/or piano. The congregation sings heartily and appreciates both traditional and contemporary styles of music.
Responsibilities:
· Work with the pastor to prepare worship services.
· Play organ and/or piano music for the Sunday service, including prelude, postlude, offertory voluntary, anthem, hymns and service music.
· Rehearse, direct and accompany the choir.
· Integrate and supervise, as appropriate, the parish’s instrumental musicians.
· Direct the music at an early evening service on Christmas Eve, and at a service on Maundy Thursday and on Good Friday.

Qualifications
Education, Qualifications & Experience:
· Proficiency in playing the organ and/or piano required.
· Experience as a choral director a plus.
· A background check will be required for the final candidate.
Compensation:
· Part time salaried position averaging 8-10 hours per week
· Salary Range: $18,000-$21,000 based on experience and skill set.
· Benefits include three weeks of vacation and possibly a continuing education allowance.
