The Episcopal Diocese of Connecticut

Domestic Poverty & Living Wage

The third and fourth Marks of Mission particularly call us to address the issue of poverty in our communities, our nation and the world.

  • To respond to human need by loving service
  • To seek to transform unjust structures of society, to challenge violence of every kind and to pursue peace and reconciliation

Work to address poverty is done across The Episcopal Church through a variety of Domestic Poverty Ministries, particularly Jubilee Centers

At our 2014 Annual Convention a resolution was passed regarding providing a Living Wage to employees in ECCT and its parishes and institutions.

Following on that resolution policy recommendation regarding a Living Wage has been developed by deacon postulants in ECCT and may be viewed here.
