Prayer Stop in Deep River

July 8, Saturday, Deep River (exact location and time TBA, likely a 1-3 hour window in the mid/late afternoon, on Deep River coast), there will be a drop in prayer event to recognize and repent of our historic complicity in the ivory trade. Details will be provided as soon as available. This is part of the Connecticut River Pilgrimage. The core river pilgrims will be making a prayer stop toward the end of their day's paddle before pulling into Essex for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

Some articles about the history:

Note:
Ivoryton is one of three villages in the town of Essex (the three are Essex Village, Centerbrook, and Ivoryton). Deep River is a separate town. There were two major manufacturing sites that processed ivory; one in Deep River and one in Ivoryton (Essex).
