Archdeacon Ellen Adams taught in the Norwich School System for 35 years and was active in the Learn and Serve Movement which teaches students the curriculum while doing community service projects in the town.
She is the proud mother of three children and lucky enough to have seven amazing grandchildren.
She was ordained as a deacon on December 12, 1998. Her interest in criminal justice reform and re-entry work has led her to join the Racial Healing, Justice, and Reconciliation Ministry Network and to become the co-convenor for the Homelessness and Housing Ministry Network.
Ellen’s Mohegan Tribe heritage has made creation care a priority in her life. She is chair of the Jack Spaeth Creation Care Grant Committee. She is a member of the CT/RI Franciscan Action Network Justice Circle which is concentrating on climate change advocacy issues. She administers the New London Pollinator-Pathway Facebook Page. She also belongs to the Creation Care Ministry Network as well as the Journey of Discovery with Indigenous People Ministry Network.
