Join Bishop Laura for a four-week Bishop’s Book Study reading Cynthia Bourgeault’s thoughtful book, Mystical Hope: Trusting in the Mercy of God.
Bourgeault invites us into her deep thinking about Hope, Grace, and Mercy and how they can help ground us in our spiritual journeys. Drawing on the practice of centering prayer and the writings of great contemplative teachers, her writings will both encourage and challenge us to expand our understanding of our faith.
Each week we will explore Bourgeault’s teachings and reflect on our own lives and spiritual journeys. Join us for a discussion of her major themes as we pick the threads from this text which illuminate our own spiritual journeys. Please join us, even if you have not read the book or the chapters we will be discussing.
We will meet on Zoom on April 23 (Chapter 1 and 2) , April 30 (Chapter 3), May 7 (Chapter 4), and May 14 (Chapter 5).
