SE Region Convocation at St. Andrew’s, Madison

Time:
-
Location:
232 Durham Rd, Madison. More info
Calendar:
The SE Region Convocation  will happen on Saturday, September 20, 10:00 am to 12:00pm at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Madison (232 Durham Road Madison, CT)

Our speaker will be Immigration Lawyer Glenn Formica (who spoke at this year’s clergy conference). Glenn will talk about the state of immigration and what we might do to help.  Glenn is a very compelling speaker, not just about immigration issues, but about his own transformation toward this ministry.  Lay people who are getting nudges of all kinds by the Spirit, might find this very helpful to hear.

Also, we hope to select a clergy and a lay Alternate Representative for the SE Region Mission Council.  The two current region reps (Deacon Ron Steed & Judie Blackman-Cochran)  have agreed to continue for another 3 year term if there are no objections.

Witness Stones Project: Student Presentations and Dedication of Memorial Tablets at St. James, New London

This event, a part of the Tercentennial Celebration at St. James New London, honors the lives and humanity of the two slaves recorded in Bishop Samuel Seabury’s 1796 estate inventory: Nell, 38, and her daughter Rose, 9.

The event is the capstone of a history class project at the Williams School in New London. Students have studied archival documents newly researched by the Witness Stones Project staff and will give their presentations at this event. The 60-voice Killingly High School choir will also perform.

All parishioners and the general public are invited to attend the presentations and tablet dedications, followed by a light reception in the parish hall.
