Ministry Architects

Continuing the work of youth and young adults across ECCT, and building on the submission of a report from the Young Adult Task Force in 2021, ECCT is moving forward with the important work of discernment around youth and young adult ministry. We’ve partnered with Ministry Architects to support our work in building a sustainable model of youth and young adult ministry for the next season of our life together in ECCT.

Updates from Ministry Architects

April 8, 2026

In February, Ministry Architects (MA) spent nearly a week capturing data from many listening groups in various ECCT locations. We listened to youth, young adults, parents, priests, and other stakeholders who care deeply about the young people represented within ECCT. The result was a comprehensive Youth & Young Adult Assessment Report that listed the assets, challenges, and recommendations for building ECCT youth & young adult ministries. MA is now working behind the scenes to build an Implementation Team comprised of representatives from the youth & young adult demographic across ECCT. Once the team is intact, MA will return to ECCT to host a Quick Start Summit to orient the Implementation Team for the work ahead. Chaired by a MA consultant, this team will address each of the recommendations that resulted from the report, develop systems, and create innovative strategies to ensure that the ministries for youth & young adults thrive for years to come.

Our work with Ministry Architects continues! This month we sent out Implementation team invitations. The next step is to meet once via Zoom before our in-person Quick Start Summit. An additional listening session was hosted for young adults in the diocese and 11 representatives from various parishes and universities across Connecticut attended. They shared their insights and experiences with Ministry Architects, which will be included in the Assessment Report and will help pave the way for focused young adult ministry in the future.

Youth & Young Adult Ministry in ECCT Report from Ministry Architects

Our ongoing work in discerning next steps with Youth and Young Adult Ministry across ECCT continues under the guidance of Ministry Architects. After holding listening sessions across ECCT earlier this year, Ministry Architects compiled a report summarizing the current landscape of these ministry interests in ECCT, and hopes for next steps. If you have questions about the final report, contact the Rev. Canon Rebekah Hatch at rhatch@episcopalct.org.
