Better Together is a program created by The King Center of Atlanta in 2022. Its goal is to bring people of different faiths together to learn how they can play a stronger role in creating positive social change, using Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s philosophy of nonviolence as the foundation.
The program offers training, conversation, and hands-on activities that help participants:
❖ Communicate more effectively
❖ Build stronger relationships
❖ Improve problem-solving skills
❖ Learn practical, nonviolent ways to create a kinder, more peaceful community
Participants explore how to approach daily life—with their thoughts, words, and actions—from a perspective of love and nonviolence. The program also focuses on identifying and overcoming racial divisions and other barriers that prevent communities from thriving together. Leadership development is woven throughout, using proven methods that support both personal growth and community change. About the 3-Hour “Exposure to Nonviolence” Session This session introduces the basics of Kingian Nonviolence, including its core principles and steps, and explores how faith and love play a central role in building what Dr. King called the “Beloved Community.” Participants will discuss two of Dr. King’s key writings — “Transformed Nonconformist” and “Letter from a Birmingham Jail” and take part in guided group discussions on applying nonviolent principles in daily life, work, and community settings. Participants in this session will also receive a discount toward enrolling in the NV365 Masterclass.
